Valdesolar, Repsol's biggest solar plant in Spain

Valdesolar, one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Spain, has started the production of electricity, in tests, connected to the electricity grid at 400 kV. It is expected to be operational for the last quarter of this year.

Located in the municipality of Valdecaballeros (Badajoz, Extremadura), its total installed power amounts to 264MW and when it is 100% operational it will supply electricity equivalent to the demand of 140000 homes, avoiding the emission of more than 211000 tons of CO2 per year.

At Instra, we have participated in the Valdesolar project as property engineering, facultative management and technical assistance throughout the construction and commissioning phase of the photovoltaic plant and its electrical grid connection infrastructures. We congratulate the team for the milestone reached and we are very proud to work for Repsol on these projects that transform the energy model.
