Instra will participate in the 15th Industry-Mathematics Interaction Forum

On May 22, 2026, we will be participating in the 15th Industry-Mathematics Interaction Forum (Industry Day), an initiative organized by math-in and CITMAga that will bring together companies, researchers, and professionals committed to applying mathematics to real-world challenges at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

This forum aims to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia, showcasing the enormous potential of applied mathematics, numerical simulation, statistics, and operations research to find innovative solutions to industry challenges.
Among its main objectives are:

  • To foster cooperation between the business community and the scientific community.
  • To generate new ideas and solutions for industrial problems.
  • To promote research lines aligned with business challenges.
  • To reinforce the value of mathematical profiles within organizations.
  • To encourage the incorporation of specialized technical talent into companies.

Our CEO, Pedro Pérez Gabriel, will participate in the panel discussion “Mathematics as a Catalyst for Business Innovation.”

During his presentation, Pedro will share several case studies demonstrating how the intensive use of mathematical tools enables the development of innovative solutions across various sectors.

In the field of industrial and port sustainability, he will present projects in which Instra uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a multi-criteria analysis methodology based on matrix operations and mathematical consistency tests, to identify the measures with the greatest impact on reducing CO2 emissions. This approach allows for the objective evaluation of variables such as economic cost, social impact, energy savings, and emission reductions.

In the renewable energy sector, it will present MAKEMAKE, a project that uses and trains convolutional neural network algorithms; an #ArtificialIntelligence technology designed to process image and video data to identify birds in wind farms and thus reduce the risk of impact on avifauna.

At Instra, we firmly believe in the power of mathematics, advanced data analysis, and modeling to transform information into strategic decisions and high-impact solutions. That is why we are proud to be part of this event alongside companies such as Possible Incorporated, Bosch, Fujitsu, NTT Data, Plexus, Ferroglobe, and Kreios Space, among others.

The forum will be held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation, so don’t miss this opportunity to register.
